\"DasIm Oktober beginnt das gro\u00dfe Aufr\u00e4umen im Garten. F\u00e4ngt damit erst im November an, wird die Zeit knapp. Allerdings ist der Oktober auch die beste Zeit zum Pflanzen von Stauden und Geh\u00f6lzen. Erste Stufe beim gro\u00dfen Herbstaufr\u00e4umen sollet das Zur\u00fcckschneiden aller abgebl\u00fchten Prachstauden sein. Und zwar werden sie bis auf Bodenniveau heruntergeschnitten. Das Schnittgut wird geh\u00e4ckselt und kommt auf den Kompost oder wird als F\u00fcllschicht f\u00fcr ein Hochbeet genommen. Wildstauden l\u00e4sst man dagegen stehen; ihre Fruchtst\u00e4nde bleiben den Winter \u00fcber erhalten. Erstens sieht das gut aus, wenn sie sich allm\u00e4hlich mit Raureif \u00fcberziehen. Und zweites liefern viele dieser Wildstauden den Weichfutterfressern unter den Singv\u00f6gel eine wertvolle, vitaminreiche Nahrung.- Auch Gr\u00e4ser bleiben bekanntlich bis zum n\u00e4chsten Fr\u00fchjahr stehen. Eventuell bindet man sie oben zusammen; das sch\u00fctzt etwas vor N\u00e4sse und Frost im Winter. Das Erdreichen zwischen den Stauden wird vorsichtig \u2013 am besten mit einer Grabgabel \u2013 gelockert und das Unkraut entfernt. Auch die \u00dcberreste einj\u00e4hriger Sommerblumen werden entfernt und auf den Komposthaufen geworfen. Sobald sich die Laubbl\u00e4tter der Gladiolen gelb verf\u00e4rben, werden sie bis auf etwa 10cm L\u00e4nge zur\u00fcckgeschnitten und dann die Gladiolen vorsichtig ausgegraben. Man l\u00e4sst sie noch 1 bis 2 Tage zum Abtrocken auf dem Beet liegen. So kann dann auch eventuell noch anhaftende Erde restlos abgeklopft werden. Dann kommen die Knollen ins Winterquartier. \u00c4hnlich verf\u00e4hrt man mit den Canna-Pflanzen, Knollenbegonien und anderen nicht winterharten Knollen- und Zwiebelgew\u00e4chsen. Dahlien bettet man zum \u00dcberwintern in eine Kiste mit Torf ein.<\/p>\n
