Sein \u00e4therisches \u00d6l wird als vielseitiges Heilmittel schon seit langer Zeit von den Aborigines genutzt. Inzwischen wird er in Australien gro\u00dffl\u00e4chig angebaut. In Australien benutzt man das Teebaum\u00f6l u.a. zur Behandlung von Insektenstichen und \u2013bissen. Es soll sogar bei Spinnenbissen und Verbrennungen durch Qualen helfen. Warum also das Teebaum\u00f6l nicht auch bei uns zur Behandlung von Insektenstichen nutzen? Reines Teebaum\u00f6l ist zwar nicht ganz billig, aber \u00e4u\u00dferst wirksam. Wird man von einer Stechm\u00fccke, Wespe, Bremse oder Biene gestochen, einfach einige Tropfen auf die Einstichstelle auftragen und Schmerz und Juckreiz lassen innerhalb weniger Minuten nach. Teebaum\u00f6l ist hautvertr\u00e4glich und l\u00f6st daher keine Hautirritationen aus. Es kann daher bedenkenlos immer wieder genutzt werden. Hat man mehre Einstichstellen oder Insektenbisse am Fu\u00df oder Arm, kann man auch die betroffenen K\u00f6rperteile baden: Dazu gibt man etwa 10 Tropfen Teebaum\u00f6l auf 20 Liter warmes Wasser. Hautschwellungen und \u2013r\u00f6tungen rund um die Einstich- oder Bissstellen gehen dann bald zur\u00fcck. Als Repellent, etwa um Moskitos in den Abendstunden von Haus und Terrasse fernzuhalten, gibt man etwas Teebaum\u00f6l auf einen Fliegenstripp oder in einen Luftbefeuchter.
