Nun, wo die kalten Tage mit Nachtfr\u00f6sten vor\u00fcber sind, kann man die Rosen zu beschneiden. Erforderlich ist eine scharfe Gartenschere, idealerweise eine spezielle Rosenschere, mit der sich exakte Schnitte f\u00fchren lassen. An Edelrosen, Beetrosen, Bodendeckerrosen und Zwergrosen d\u00fcrfen \u00e4ltere Triebe entfernt werden. Man schneidet tief und l\u00e4sst drei oder vier gr\u00fcne, neue Triebe stehen. Strauchrosen m\u00fcssen nicht geschnitten werden, man entfernt lediglich abgestorbenes Holz. Alle zwei bis drei Jahre wird ein Verj\u00fcngungsschnitt im Fr\u00fchling durchgef\u00fchrt. Auch an den Kletterrosen wird das alte Holz entfernt und neue Triebe hochgebunden. Waagrechte F\u00fchrung f\u00f6rdert die Bl\u00fchfreudigkeit. An Stammrosen d\u00fcrfen die Kronen auf etwa 30 cm zur\u00fcckgeschnitten werden. Schnitte werden immer schr\u00e4g angesetzt, etwa einen halben Zentimeter \u00fcber dem Auge.<\/p>\n<p>Um Pilzkrankheiten vorzubeugen, sollten die Rosen in ausreichenden Abst\u00e4nden sitzen. Es wird gegen Pilzkrankheiten gespritzt, wobei dies etwa elle 14 Tage wiederholt werden. St\u00e4rkend wirkt insbesondere Schachtelhalmbr\u00fche; Fertigpr\u00e4parate sind ebenfalls erh\u00e4ltlich.<\/p>\n<p>Jetzt im April erfolgt ebenfalls die erste D\u00fcngergabe, nachdem die Rosen abgeh\u00e4ufelt wurden. Gleichm\u00e4\u00dfig wird der D\u00fcnger verteit und etwas in die Erde eingehackt. N\u00e4hrstoffmangel f\u00fchrt regelm\u00e4\u00dfig zu verminderter Bl\u00fchfreudigkeit. Bei zu hellen Bl\u00e4tter besteht Stickstoffmangel, zu kleine Bl\u00e4tter best\u00e4tigen Phosphormangel, braune Bl\u00e4tter k\u00f6nnen auf Kaliummangel hinweisen, w\u00e4hrend gelbe Flecken Magnesiummangel anzeigen. Hobbyg\u00e4rtner greifen h\u00e4ufig zu einem Kompost-Hornmehl-Gemisch, was normalerweise ausreichend ist. Auch Langzeitd\u00fcnger d\u00fcrfen gegeben werden.<\/p>\n<p>Regelm\u00e4\u00dfiges W\u00e4ssern der Rosenst\u00f6cke ist unerl\u00e4sslich. Versierte Roseng\u00e4rtner gie\u00dfen immer morgens, und zwar im Wurzelbereich. Die Bl\u00e4tter sollten trocken um, um nicht die Bildung von Sternrusstau oder Mehltau zu beg\u00fcnstigen. Regelm\u00e4\u00dfig muss die Erde gr\u00fcndlich mit einer Rosengabel oder einem kleinen Grubber gelockert werden. Man kontrolliere Bl\u00e4tter und St\u00e4ngel ebenfalls auf Rost und Blattfleckenkrankheit; betroffene Bl\u00e4tter sollten sofort entfernt und entsorgt werden. Blattl\u00e4use d\u00fcrfen mit Seifenlauge oder Spiritus bespr\u00fcht werden; Spinnmilben treten normalerweise erst ab Mai auf.<\/p>\n<p>Selbstverst\u00e4ndlich d\u00fcrfen im April auch Rosenneupflanzungen vorgenommen werden. Wurzeln sollten etwa 24 Stunde vorher gew\u00e4ssert werden; Containerrosen etwa sechs Stunden. Pflanzl\u00f6cher m\u00fcssen zu tief und gro\u00df ausgehoben werden, dass die Wurzel Platz findet, ohne geknickt werden zu m\u00fcssen. Veredlungsstellen m\u00fcssen etwa f\u00fcnf Zentimeter unter der Erdoberfl\u00e4che liegen; danach wird intensiv gew\u00e4ssert.
