The pillar candle is one of the most common forms of candles today, which assures a particularly long burning time due to its large and thick shape. Compared to candle sticks, which are established much longer worldwide and can be used for example in chandeliers and chandeliers, the pillar candle is a rather recent achievement. Particularly striking is the relatively high use of materials, which was not possible in an age in which high-quality and rare beeswax for the manufacture of candles was used. By switching to an industrial production of candles and using the much cheaper paraffin, it was possible to offer candles in larger form at a fair price. The pillar candle is one of the standard forms of large candles, which is safe even without a candle holder and burns for many hours. The paraffin used also increases the burning time of modern candles and makes the pillar candle a versatile light source that provides many hours in a row for a warm and bright light.
