Adhesive tape is one of the most important aids in floristry and horticulture, but is also used in numerous other areas of life. Basically, the term all pressure-sensitive adhesives are summarized, which are applied to films, tapes or papers and thereby allow the adhesion of these materials to objects with various surface structures. Both modern and double-sided adhesive tape are offered in modern retailers. The latter is suitable for the direct bonding of two materials without the need to look at the adhesive itself. If hiding of the adhesive tape is not possible due to the superficial use, the choice is usually made of transparent adhesive tapes and films. In floristry, adhesive tape is mainly used in the packaging of bouquets or potted plants which, for practical or decorative purposes, are wrapped in paper or foil prior to dispensing to the customer. Adhesive tape, which can be easily torn off a tape dispenser, allows these wrapping materials to be simply glued to the end, providing good protection and a pleasing appearance right up to the moment of unpacking. As an alternative to adhesive tape, the work with hot glue guns has become established, but these are used more in the decoration area and help in the design of wreaths, arrangements and other decorations.
