color harmony
The term color harmony can be found both in art and in aesthetics and describes the property of color combinations to represent an appealing and color-coordinated combination according to the mathematical principles of aesthetics. Even if the color harmony can be determined on a very scientific basis, which, for example, also results in the color circle for the compilation of individual color tones, the subjective feeling also plays a role in the color harmony of bouquets and other, artistic elements. Basically, color combinations, which are compiled according to the rules of color theory, are described by most human viewers as harmonious in terms of color, but personal preferences can nevertheless deviate from the doctrine of color harmony. It is essential for a professional florist to adhere to the valid rules of color harmony when putting together bouquets, as the bouquets offered should appeal to a large proportion of the customers. From the harmony of the colors used, however, it is not yet possible to derive the events for which the respective flower arrangement is appropriate – a bouquet of funeral floristry can have a color harmony as well as a colorful spring bouquet.
